About the #RAKDavid Kindness Scholarship
David Xavier Castro would have graduated from Westside High School in 2022. At Westside, he participated in engineering and band. He challenged himself daily to be the best he could be.
Though he died before he could graduate, his legacy continues to live on. David's friends and family remember him as smart, funny, and most of all, kind. In the aftermath of his death, the whole community has come together to continue David's legacy by performing random acts of kindness.
After David's death, many people in the community helped raise funds to help the family handle unexpected expenses. With the extra funds, David's family decided to create the #RAKDavid Kindness Scholarship. Thanks to the continuous generosity of the Westside community and friends of David, each year, two graduating seniors at Westside High School will receive $1500 scholarship awards by demonstrating acts of kindness and community service.
